A native of Texas, Douglas Jacobson is Of Counsel to The Hilbert Law Firm, LLC specializing in general litigation matters and bankruptcy law.
Jacobson is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin and a graduate of the University of Georgia School of Law, where he was Articles Editor of the Georgia Journal of International and Comparative Law.
In 2007, Jacobson was admitted to the Georgia bar and began his legal career as an attorney at Clark & Washington, PC. During his first 7 years of law practice, Jacobson gained extensive experience in consumer and business bankruptcy while working primarily at the Gainesville offices of Clark & Washington and Cummings and Kelley, PC. Primarily focusing on debt relief, he specializes in representing consumers and small businesses in bankruptcies, including chapters 7, 11, 12 and 13 of the Bankruptcy Code, bankruptcy litigation and non-bankruptcy solutions. Douglas also assists in negotiations with creditors, for those who want to explore non-bankruptcy options. He is well-versed in trial work and is admitted to practice before the United States District Courts in the Northern and Middle Districts of Georgia.
Jacobson is an active member of the Forsyth County community and can often be found out and about with his wife and daughter, playing guitar, and keeping up with his fantasy baseball team in his spare time.
